e.g. P2: Multiplication workings are one-digit multiply by one-digit numbers P3: Multiplication workings are one to three-digits multiply by one-digit numbers


  • Long Division topic is introduced in Primary 3


  • Problem sums in P3 requires more steps and are not as straightforward as in P2

  • Knowledge of models are also extended


e.g. The units in the model may require students to break it down into smaller parts and shifting of the parts to understand the question better.

  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes


  • Content: Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) and Problem Sums


4. What Can Parents Do to Help a Primary 3 Student in Learning Mathematics? (Tips for Parents)


  • Most students will encounter problems with Multiplication, hence it’s good to give them a head-start test them multiplication tables during daily activities


e.g. How many nuggets boxes of nuggets should we get for our family if each one of us eats 2 nuggets?


  • Encourage them to be neat when presenting their workings and answers
