Here's what students can expect for Primary 4 Math for the month of February.
End Feb is about the end of Term 1. The last part on Whole Numbers will be the Problem Solving on Whole Numbers.
Problem Solving on Whole Numbers is a very important part as many students are quite weak at or scared of it.
At P4, Working Backwards is one of the more commonly tested heuristic for problem solving. Hence, we have prepared 3 videos on the ‘working backwards’ concept for parents to download and watch with their child.
What can you do to prepare them?
Correct them on the presentation of their answers and workings. A good habit to cultivate! Also, remember to write the equations and check the units of the final answer.
*Take note and learn to identify the key words for each type of question.
What are some of the areas to take note of?
Writing equations and drawing models are things parents need to encourage the child to do so as to make it a good habit.
Get them to practise the various heuristics so that they have exposure to the various types and are familiar with the various concepts.
